Rappel : triangle rectangle

Dans un triangle rectangle en AA :

  • L’hypoténuse est le côté opposé à l’angle droit (le plus long)
  • Les deux autres côtés sont les cathètes

Calculer un côté

Exemple : Triangle rectangle en AA, B^=35°\hat{B} = 35°, BC=10BC = 10 cm.

AC=BC×sin⁡35°=10×0,574≈5,7 cmAC = BC \times \sin 35° = 10 \times 0{,}574 \approx 5{,}7 \text{ cm}

Calculer un angle

Utiliser les fonctions inverses (touche sin⁡−1\sin^{-1}, cos⁡−1\cos^{-1}, tan⁡−1\tan^{-1} sur la calculatrice).

Exemple : cos⁡B^=0,6\cos\hat{B} = 0{,}6 → B^=arccos⁡(0,6)≈53,1°\hat{B} = \arccos(0{,}6) \approx 53{,}1°


Propriété

Dans tout triangle rectangle : sin⁡2α+cos⁡2α=1\sin^2\alpha + \cos^2\alpha = 1

Et les deux angles aigus sont complémentaires (leur somme vaut 90°) :

sin⁡α=cos⁡(90°−α)\sin\alpha = \cos(90° - \alpha)
